If your travelers have already been to New York City and visited the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and Fifth Avenue, this trip gives them a reason to return to the Big Apple. They’ll take a Noshing Tour through several neighborhoods, walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, go for a spin on Jane’s Carousel, join a local chef and shop at local markets for ingredients to cook a special group dinner and “Make Music” with a Broadway performer. It’s the smell of fresh-baked bagels, the sounds of a Broadway rehearsal studio, the taste of an authentic NYC black-and-white cookie, the sights in the streets, and the pulse of the city — it’s New York from a whole new perspective … come and be a part of it!

Day One:

Arrive in the Big Apple meet your official NYC guide. Head out on a “Noshing Tour” and taste your way through a series of neighborhoods to experience the diverse, exciting, ethnic communities that make Brooklyn a magnet for “foodies.” Enjoy lunch while on your edible ethnic adventure through some of New York’s most flavorful neighborhoods.

Pause and reflect on a day that touched the hearts of the entire world. Visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum built to remember the loved ones that were lost on that day.

Manhattan bridgeNext, in less than 30 seconds, ascend to the top of the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere at the One World Observatory. Witness 360-degree views in all directions that take in the iconic sights, surrounding waters and panoramic views of the city and beyond!

Late afternoon check into your Midtown Manhattan hotel. Relax and refresh before you venture out to explore the city on your own. Visit Times Square referred to as the “crossroads of the world.” Times Square is one of the world’s busiest pedestrian intersections and a major center of the entertainment industry. It’s also the world’s most visited tourist attraction. Enjoy time to explore the shops, witness the amazing billboards, and immerse yourself in the fast pace of the city.

This evening discover your favorite New York City restaurant, attend a Broadway Show, visit Rockefeller Center or sip a nightcap at a trendy lounge near the hotel.

Day Two:

After breakfast in the hotel, board the coach and set out for a full day to experience life in “the city that never sleeps.”

This morning, “Make Music” for your chance to be a star! Start by learning the techniques of vocal dynamics and acting through song, while working with a musical director. You will also explore the art of marrying music and drama to effectively achieve emotional impact. Now that you’re well rehearsed, you’ll sing the piece with a Broadway performer! After the class there will be time for a question and answer period and to take photos.

Brooklyn bridgeTravel to Brooklyn Bridge Park and enjoy lunch on your own at one of the eateries located in the park. After lunch, meet your official NYC guide and explore DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) and visit Jane’s Carousel. Created in 1922, this classic carousel boasts 48 exquisitely carved horses and 2 chariots. This gift of Jane and David Walentas, was built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company and originally installed at Idora Park in Youngstown, Ohio. The carousel was purchased in 1984, moved to Brooklyn and lovingly restored. Climb on one of the horses and go ‘round and ‘round for a ride to remember.

You’ll be surrounded by sweets steeped in tradition at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory and Jacques Torres Chocolates. Indulge in a treat while you observe all of the activity and unique boutiques.

For an experience of a lifetime, walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, which soars over the East River connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn. The Bridge itself is a marvel of design and provides spectacular views of the city’s skyline. Photo op anyone?

Late afternoon you will embark on a culinary adventure with your NYC guide and chef. Visit local markets and select fresh ingredients that you’ll use to prepare your own dinner! Learn about the varieties of unique products and how they are incorporated into Italian cuisine. Join your chef in the kitchen, where you will be split into culinary teams. During the course of the evening, you’ll learn about the history of the dishes being created, of Italian people in NYC, as well as the basics of Italian cooking. When your work is through, sit down and reap the rewards of your culinary efforts and toast the evening with a glass of vino.

Day Three:

After breakfast in the hotel, pack your bags and check out. Start the day off right with a 1- hour bagel tour, led by “Ben the Bagel Guy.” There’s nothing better then a fresh New York bagel straight out of the oven. Enjoy the samples along the way, and taste New York’s iconic dessert, a black-and-white cookie.

Your last stop in the city is Herald Square, home of Macy’s Department Store. Meet a Macy’s guide and embark on a fascinating historic store tour. Learn about the magic of Macy’s and how Rowland Hussey Macy turned his 1858 dry goods shop into the iconic store it is today.

Depart the city late morning. Leave knowing that you have now become a part of it … New York, New York!
