Day One: Arrive in Halifax

Welcome to Halifax, Nova Scotia’s oldest and most culturally diverse city, as well as its capital. Meet your Tour Manager in the hotel lobby at 6:00 p.m. for dining suggestions.

Day Two: Halifax

After an included breakfast, join a local guide for a tour of Halifax. Hear the history of the city’s war years and the exploits and heroism of the citizens who lived through the devastating Halifax explosion. Learn about the city’s connection to the Titanic disaster with a visit to Fairview Lawn Cemetery where many victims are buried. See the beautiful waterfront, and pay a visit to The Citadel, the restored British fort that is now a National Historic Landmark.

Dinner is included this evening.

Day Three: Cape Breton Island

They were followed by Scottish immigrants, choosing this region because it reminded them of their homelands. After, visit one of Canada’s most popular attractions, The Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site in Baddeck, Nova Scotia, overlooking beautiful Bras d’Or Lake.

Day Four: Cabot Trail

After an included breakfast, grab your camera and get ready to see spectacular scenery today as you travel along the Cabot Trail. Enjoy the day exploring this famed road in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, which winds through charming communities and breathtaking scenery. A visit to Cape Breton is sure to thrill you. Its only rival in beauty is the seaside French and Scottish settlements nestled below the mountains resembling the highlands of Scotland. Enjoy a relaxing picnic lunch (included) along the way as you experience the scenic nooks and crannies of this remarkable landscape.

Dinner is on your own this evening.

Day Five: Prince Edward Island

After breakfast at the hotel (included), board the coach as you depart Nova Scotia today and take a ferry to Prince Edward Island, home of Lucy Maud Montgomery, who wrote the book Anne of Green Gables. This two-night stay on Prince Edward Island gives you ample time to explore this quaint part of Canada. Later, enjoy a musical performance at the Confederation Centre for the Arts.

Dinner is on your own this evening.

Day Six: Charlottetown

Dine on an included breakfast this morning at the hotel, then enjoy a tour of Charlottetown, a city whose core has not changed since it was settled by the French, Scottish, English and Irish. A visit to the Anne of Green Gables home is one of the highlights of this tour. Your view of the island offers many other delightful opportunities including exploring marvelous beaches and woodlands.

This evening join your co-travelers for tasty lobster dinner.

Day Seven: Confederation Bridge and Hopewell Rocks

hopewell rocksAfter breakfast (included), depart Prince Edward Island via the nine-mile-long Confederation Bridge. Take in breathtaking views as you travel along the Bay of Fundy, stopping at one of the province’s most popular and intriguing attractions, the Hopewell Rocks. Over the centuries the massive tides have carved these unique rock formations known as the “Pots,” which provide incredible photo opportunities with their natural beauty. Later, continue on to your home for the evening in the city of Saint John, New Brunswick.

Once you have checked into your hotel, enjoy dinner on your own.

Day Eight: Peggy's Cove

Peggy's coveAfter an included breakfast, cross the Bay of Fundy by ferry to Digby, Nova Scotia, the “Scallop Capital of the World.” In Digby, visit the small town of Terence Bay and explore the Heritage Park dedicated to the S.S. Atlantic, the luxury steamship that ran aground there in 1873. Next, visit the picturesque fishing village of Peggy’s Cove. This sleepy town is famous for its weathered granite rocks, beautiful ocean waters and its crowning feature, Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse. Enjoy leisure time in the “world’s most photographed fishing village.”

This evening join your co-travelers for a special farewell dinner before returning back to your hotel.

Day Nine: Travel Home

After an included breakfast at the hotel, it is time to say goodbye to this beautiful coastline region of Canada with memories to share with family and friends. Your Tour Manager will arrange your transfer to the airport in Halifax for flights home anytime today.
