chocolate-bar-524263Upon arrival, enjoy an included lunch at the onsite café before you embark on an Educational Expedition. Travel by trolley through Chocolatetown, USA and learn about Milton Hershey’s life and legacy. For the perfectly sweet ending to your visit, create your own candy bar! Choose your own ingredients and design your own wrapper.

Travel a short distance to your Harrisburg area hotel. There will be time to refresh before dinner.

Dinner is served at a buffet-style restaurant near the hotel. Enjoy a seemingly endless array of foods certain to please the heartiest of appetites. Save room for “Desert Central” that offers sweet treats galore!

Indoor and outdoor exhibits range from the Eastern Woodlands to the Great Southwest. Stroll the tree-lined pathways and see mountain lions, gray wolves, reindeer, bears and more!

During your day at Hersheypark and ZooAmerica enjoy lunch and dinner, via included vouchers, at the concessions located throughout the Park.

NOTE: You may travel between the Park and the Zoo during the day, however the entire group must travel back and forth together.

Before returning to the hotel, stop at the Harrisburg Mall. This is the largest mall in Harrisburg and with two floors of stores, there is certainly something for everyone! This is a great time to shop for souvenirs.

Day Three:

After breakfast in the hotel, board the coach and travel to the Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center. View one of the world’s largest collections of artifacts and memorabilia from the American Civil War. At the Cyclorama Center you will see a breath-taking panorama, measuring 356 by 26 feet, of Pickett’s Charge. The center also hosts the film, "A New Birth of Freedom", narrated by award winning actor Morgan Freeman.

cannon-1017749_1280Mid morning, meet a licensed Battlefield Guide and begin your tour of America’s largest Civil War Battlefield. Monuments to both Union and Confederate troops are visible on the battlefield. Gettysburg National Military Park preserves one of the world’s largest collections of outdoor sculptures. Close to 1,400 statues, sculptures, markers and tablets stand where men fought — memorials to the sacrifices at Gettysburg.

Say goodbye to your guide after the tour and have lunch on your own at the Gettysburg Visitor Center.

gettysburg-museum-website-smallAfter lunch you will have time to explore the Gettysburg Museum of the Civil War. With 22,000 square feet of exhibit space, the museum features relics of the Battle of Gettysburg and personalities who served in the Civil War, inter-active exhibits and multi-media presentations that cover the conflict from beginning to end. Make certain to save time to visit the amazing gift shop!

Your next stop is at the Soldier’s National Cemetery. This is the final resting place for more than 3,500 Union Soldiers killed in the Battle of Gettysburg. A Union victory often sited as a turning point in the Civil War. Numerous monuments stand in the cemetery in tribute to both the Union and Confederate troops who fought here. At the cemetery’s dedication on November 19, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln rose to deliver “a few appropriate remarks,” now known as the Gettysburg Address.

Visit the David Wills House that tells the story of a town recovering from the devastation of battle and a war-worn President who came to dedicate a national cemetery. David Wills’ home was the center of the immense clean-up process after the Battle of Gettysburg.

Following a day filled with history, dinner at General Pickett’s Buffet Restaurant is ideal.

Dine on hearty fare served in the surrounds of Civil War memorabilia.

After dinner, board the coach and return to Harrisburg. Arrive for an evening of all out energy at “Get Air,” an indoor trampoline park! Dodge if you dare in a game of Dodgeball, put one foot in front of the other on the Slackline, get your jump on in a game of Slam Ball, try to wiggle your way up the Fidget Ladder or slither like a ninja on the Ninja course.

Return to the hotel for a good night’s rest.

Day Four, Sunday June 11:

After breakfast served in the hotel, tidy up your rooms, pack your bags and checkout. Today, you will travel home.
