Big Time in Bean Town: A Class Outing to Boston and Salem

Boston, perhaps more than any other city, is a place of living history. On this fun-filled, educational outing you will search for treasures along the Freedom Trail, zip across the ocean at up to 40 miles per hour and tour Boston xlike never before aboard a “DUCK,” a World War II-style amphibious landing vehicle. Visit Salem and learn of the 1692 witchcraft trials, local legends and ghost!

Tour Length: 3 Days - 2 Nights

Day One:

Quincy MarketArrive at Faneuil Hall early afternoon. One of the most historic sites in the nation, its Marketplace and adjacent Quincy Market are now some of the liveliest areas of the city with interesting shops, street performers, tantalizing restaurants and an expansive food court. Enjoy lunch on own in the food court.

After lunch, embark on the ultimate scavenger hunt! Meet your guide at Faneuil Hall, split up into teams and get ready for the challenge, a Boston Freedom Dash. The game combines the elements of education, fun, teamwork, and laughs galore! Teams will be given game bags that include: a game book, customized nametags, digital camera and props. Search for objects, answers to trivia questions, and take videos along Boston’s historic Freedom Trail.

Late afternoon, get ready for more thrills, more laughs and more speed than you ever imagined as you zip across the ocean at up to 40 miles per hour aboard Codzilla. This thrilling 40-minute Boston Harbor ride is full blast, sensational fun.

Travel to your Boston area hotel and check into your rooms.  Dinner this evening will be a pizza party at the hotel. 

Day Two:

Start the day with a hearty breakfast served in the hotel.  Board the coach and travel into Boston to the Museum of Science.

Long respected as a leader in science education, the Museum of Science promotes thoughtful participation in today's increasingly technological society. With over 700 permanent exhibits, and an ever-changing cavalcade of touring exhibits, films and shows, you will encounter the fresh and unfamiliar. Your admission includes the IMAX Theater. Have lunch on your own at the Museum’s Café.

Tour Boston like never before aboard a “DUCK,” a World War II-style amphibious landing vehicle. You will cruise by all the places that make Boston the birthplace of freedom and a city of firsts, from the golden-domed State House to Bunker Hill, Boston Common and Copley Square to the Big Dig, Quincy Market to the Prudential Tower and more.  And just when you think you have seen it all, it’s time for “Splashdown,” as your ConDUCKtor splashes the DUCK into the Charles River for a breathtaking view of the Boston and Cambridge skylines, the kind of view you just won’t get anywhere else.

Boston AquariumYour next adventure begins at the New England Aquarium where you take a trip to exotic waters and experience more than 70 exhibits featuring aquatic animals from around the world. Greet the African penguins, feel the smooth wing of a cownose ray and then wind your way around the four-story Giant Ocean Tank, home to a huge Caribbean coral reef. See the Northern fur seals in action in their open-air exhibit, and be sure to visit the Atlantic harbor seals.

Walk back to the Quincy Marketplace after your visit to the Aquarium.  Enjoy time to shop for souvenirs, gifts and perhaps a little treat for yourself.  Gather for an included dinner served in a Marketplace Restaurant.

After dinner, prepare yourself for an evening of fun, scares and ghost stories as you are guided through one of America’s most haunted cities. Step through the shadows and discover the chilling and ghastly tales of murder and revenge. Hear enchanting and chilling tales of Boston's most famous ghosts you embark on a walking tour through the historic and haunted streets in search of the countless ghosts rumored to haunt the city.

Return to your hotel after the tour.

Day Three: 

After breakfast, pack your bags and check out of the hotel. Board the coach and travel to the historically haunting Town of Salem.

Your first stop is the Witch Dungeon Museum. The mood is set from the moment you enter. You are there - in Salem Village in 1692, and you are guaranteed a unique educational experience with a chill or two. You will experience the acclaimed performance of a Witch trial adapted from the 1692 historical transcripts. Professional actresses in repertory reenact the electrifying scene. Welcome to Salem Massachusetts, where in the year 1692 something very unusual took place.  Come and find out what it was!
Next, visit the Pirate Museum. Relive the adventures of Captains Kidd and Blackbeard, who roamed freely offshore plundering merchant ships. Participate in an educational, historically accurate and entertaining, live walking tour with a qualified guide. The tour starts in the artifacts room with authentic pirate treasures. Then you will stroll through a colonial seaport, board a pirate ship and explore an eighty foot cave, where you are sure to encounter some of those 17th century rascals face to face.

Have lunch on your own and time to explore the shops in Salem.

Your last visit promises to leave you with an everlasting memory. The Witchcraft and Ghost Experience at Gallows Hill is interactive, exciting, surprising and immersive and guaranteed to be the most exciting event that you will see in Salem.  It is an incredible mix of special effects, actors, costumes, story-telling, diversions, exhilarating surprises and jump scares, blended with historical facts about the Salem Witch Trials, ghosts and local legends.

Depart Salem by 2:00 pm and begin your travels back home.
